NA 085 Round Steel Link Chains Standards Committee
The German Round Steel Link Chains Standards Committee (de: Normenausschuss Rundstahlketten - NRK) is responsible for the standardization work at national (DIN), European (CEN), and international (ISO) level in the field of round steel link chains (round steel link chains for general purposes, sling chains, hoist chains, conveyor chains, bucket elevator chains, anti-skid chains and lashing chains), components and accessories. There is a close cooperation of NRK with the national Mining Standards Committee (de: Normenausschuss Bergbau - FABERG) for the preparation of standards for round steel link chains, components and accessories for mining. Additionally, NRK supports the national Shipbuilding and Marine Technology Standards Committee (de: Normenausschuss Schiffs- und Meerestechnik - NSMT) in the field of round steel link chains (studless anchor chain cables, anchor chain cables - grade NM, studlink anchor chain cables), components and accessories used on board of ships of the German Navy (VG-standards), on merchant ships (DIN- and ISO-standards), and in inland navigation (CEN-standards). Furthermore, the standardization of steels for welded round steel link chains and chain components is practised in close conjunction with the national Iron and Steel Standards Committee (de: Normenausschuss Eisen und Stahl - FES). In all three cases the NRK is the co-editor of the corresponding standards.
